History
The Old Williamsonians Rugby Club, or Old Willies as they are commonly known, was founded in 1930. The Old Willies are a section of the Old Williamsonians club who are the old boys club for ex pupils of Rochester Math School.
The club re-formed in 1978, and had the basis of the A level students who were leaving that year. In those days only really clever people went straight to university, so there were quite a few of us to choose from. Andy Campbell was the driving force to get it underway. There was no club house and local pubs in Rochester were used for post match entertainment - Crown , Coopers Arms. In those days the team was noted for playing attractive, attacking rugby with talented backs.
OWRFC are one of the most friendly rugby teams in the Medway/Kent region. The club, who's training and matchday facilities are based in the impressive sports complex within the Rochester Mathematical School, are the current champions of their respective league and welcome new players, regardless of their ability.

The Old Williamsonian Club exists to promote mutual support between the School, its Trustees and its former pupils and staff. This is achieved by the regular passing of information to all its members by means of at least two postings per year, one of which will include the School Magazine "The Williamsonian".
The Trustees and the School make available to the Club facilities that include the Pavilion. which is used as our Clubhouse, the Sports Hall, the Swimming Pool, the Playing Fields and an All Weather Playing Surface. These facilities, provided at a very generous cost to the Club mean that the Club can offer many sporting and social activities. The Sections of the Club organise the various activities that use these facilities. On joining the O W Club members can join in any or all of the sporting activities.
The club and school share a strong relationship with many events planned throughout the year. One such event is Founders Day which takes place on the first saturday in July.
